1937 Canada 1 Cent PCGS SP-65 Red; Matte

1937 Canada 1 Cent graded SP-65 Red by PCGS. A bright red gem with a mintage of only 1,000 pieces, this is an excellent example of the 1937 matte specimen cent. Though the mintage is considerably higher than that of its mirror counterpart, finding a nice red matte example is equally challenging given that the matte sets were issued in carboard boxes which made the coins prone to toning (especially the cent). Lustrous and well-struck with only a minor spot on the reverse hindering its ability to grade higher. Housed in an old green holder (OGH).
